I just passed the 6 gig mark on the size of my collection of pdf documents. At this point I attempted to reindex the collection and the zoom indexer crashes with the following information:

"Error: Access violation at 0x00660064 (tried to write to 0x00000002), program terminated. "

The screen goes away before I can determine how many files were indexed.

Below is some more information about my system:

Collection:

29,624 total PDF pages.
6.0 Gig of total PDF files
2,712 Documents

The workstation which is doing the indexing:

1 Gig of RAM
Pentium IV 3.2 GHz Intel Processor
40 Gig HardDrive 15.7 Gig Free

Zoom Statistics:

Estimated Ram Required: 642891 KB
Limits:
Max Pages Scan 40000
Max unique words 500000
Max file size scanned 5000kb
Max description length 150 characters
Limit pages per start piont 40000 (Not Checked)
Revision/Patch Version 4.0 (Build 7.0)

Please let me know if there is anything else I can provide to resolve this issue

Firstly, get the latest build (4.0.1010) available from here:
http://www.wrensoft.com/zoom/whatsnew.html

I assume you meant that you were using build 4.0.1007.

Once you have installed the latest build, run the indexer again, but this time from the Start -> Run window, with the following command:

"C:\Program Files\Zoom Search Engine 4.0\ZoomIndexer.exe" -d

Note that the double quotes are required, and that you should change the path to where you have installed Zoom.

Load up your config file (if it is not already loaded) and run the index again. After it crashes, you should find a file named "debuglog.txt" in your Zoom program folder. Please send this file along with your configuration (.zcfg) file, to us via e-mail (see our Contact Us page) so that we can take a closer look.
