  • V5 Upgrade policy and V5 pricing

    Upgrade policy
All users who purchased V4 of Zoom in the six months previous to the 1/Dec/06 will get a free upgrade to V5. New V5 license keys are now available for collection from our web site. People with the V4 standard edition will get the V5 standard edition. People with the V4 Pro edition will get the V5 Enterprise edition.

Users who have purchased V4 more than 6 month ago, or purchased V2 or V3, will get at least a 50% discount off the retail price, if they wish to upgrade.

    V5 Pricing
There will be no change to existing pricing for the Standard and Professional releases. We will be introducing an Enterprise level as people indexing really huge sites tend to need more support.
    • Zoom Enterprise V5, $299 USD
    • Zoom Professional V5, $99
    • Zoom Standard V5, $49
    • Zoom Free Edition V5, $0
    • Upgrade from V5 Std to V5 Pro, $55
    • Upgrade from V5 Pro to V5 Enterprise, $200
    • Upgrade from V2, V3, V4 to V5 Pro, $49 (or free, see above)
    • Special launch upgrade price from V2, V3, V4 to V5 Enterprise, $79 (or free, see above). After the launch special the price will revert to $200.
These prices are for the 32bit software. We might do a Enterprise 64bit version at some point and it might have a slightly higher price (and capacity).

    License keys
License keys from V4 will not work in V5 of the software. Free upgrade keys have been made available on our web site on the 5/Dec/06. There is a form in which you can enter in your E-mail address to get an updated key.

    V5 Editions
The breakdown of the various editions will be.

Free Edition. Limited to 50 pages.
Std Edition. Limited to 100 pages.
Pro Edition. Limited to 200,000 pages.
Enterprise Edition. Limited by your hardware (~1M pages on a typical PC)
More details on the various editions are here.
