Can We Add Custom Variables to Search Logging?

Sorry, one more question--I'm trying to decide if this is the right for my client. In the search logging reports, is there an option or ability to add a field to the search logging? Specifically, if a user is authenticated on my website and there is a session variable identifying the user, can that value be included in the logs, thereby associating a user with a search? Thanks.

To add new fields to the default logging fields (http://www.wrensoft.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1305) would require some customisation of the search script. At the moment the log doesn't record anything that might be used to identify a particular user (except their IP address).
