  • Displaying weird name for a PDF file!!

Sorry to ask this question because I am sure it has already been asked! I tried the search in the forum..did not find anything!

On searching a PDF file, I have this showing up:

    Atlantis - C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\Getting the Most out of Google AdSense.doc

This is the name of the link, the label. It reflects the file on my hard disk location. The link path is fine however!

Why the .doc extension at the end and not .PDF?

The real name, the label should be " Atlantis.PDF" nothing else.

    Thanks

    Roger

My first guess is that this is the actual meta title of your PDF file (as can be found by opening the file in Acrobat Reader and clicking on "File"->"Document"->"Summary). This is typically a result of creating PDF files from the "Print" function in Word, as opposed to Acrobat Distiller.

Also mentioned here in this thread:

If this is the case, you can either: a) fix the PDF file, b) override the title with .desc files, or c) turn off the use of meta information for PDF files
