  • Eliminate blank spaces in index

Does anyone know a way to have the indexer eliminate blank spaces between words? I need to use the indexer to search measurements such as 7 x 1/2 x 1 as one word rather than 5. We have measurements listed as 7x1/2x1 and 7 x 1/2 x 1 and we need to figure out how to consider them both the same. If quotes are used, I don't think the indexer would consider them the same, "7x1/2x1" and "7 x 1/2 x 1".

    Any suggestions are appreciated!

I can't think of any easy way to do this. Naturally, you would not want to eliminate spaces between all words, or else everything else would be meaningless and unsearchable (you'dhavesentenceslikethis). And it's not really a matter of eliminating spaces between numbers, since the character "x" is used here.

You could add ZOOMWORDS to the pages with the spaceless version of the measurement for the relevant pages, but this might take some effort/time if you have many pages to update.
