Hi!
I am looking for a way to index my files in 2 categories.
The first one is the "public" area. It includes all folders in the root directory except the "member area" folder.
Any chance of creating a category with the pattern "-/members/", so it indexes only files that are not in the member area?

Your post is a little confusing about what you are trying to achieve.
Do you want,
1) Two set of index files and two search functions. The private set cover the entire site. But the public set cover the entire site except the members area.
OR
2) One search function with two categories. A private category and the public category. The private category covers just the members area and the public category the rest of the site. No files are skipped in this case. All the files are either public or private.
Both scenarios are possible with Zoom without needing negative categories, as you suggest in your post.
In case 2) you can just create two categories,
Private /members/
Public (as the default category name)
If this is not what want want, can you give us more details.
