I have my Zoom search engine up and running, but have one minior issue in regard to special characters. I have tested UTF-8, iso-8859-1 and disabling charset encoding within the Zoom application.
I am now able to display registration characters, but they display as "®". Trademark symbols do not display at all. The trademark and copyright symbols appear properly on regular HTML pages. The symbols are embedded within the properties of the Acrobat documents.
Any suggestions to get this fixed?
Thanks
We cannot reproduce this problem. Which version of Zoom are you using? Click "Help"->"About" to check.
The latest version is V5.0 Build 1008:

You might also want to check that you have the latest plugin available:

If you continue to have the problem with the latest version, perhaps you can e-mail us (http://www.wrensoft.com/contactus.html) the PDF files in question, and include your ZCFG containing your indexer configuration.

Raymond:
I originally had v5.0 Build 1007. I just upgraded to 5.1 Build 1000 and experience the same issue.
I did some additional testing. The trademark and character character appended after the symbol if the character is simply pasted into the Acrobat title field in Document Properties. If the actual character is used, the symbol displays properly.
I am using the most recent plug-in.
I am sending a sample PDF (before I swtiched to the character code) and Zoom config file via email.
Thanks
Mike
