User roles and read rights

Do you have any plans on introducing roles in the search system?

I am using your search in an ASP.NET 2.0 CMS application and the categories contain my "roles" system - but things are "beginning" to get really messy now when I also want to use for the categories - as they were meant to be used.

I have (among other content) blogs in the system and want to make those searches local, but also have a global search present - and the whole system are built on access rights/roles.

It seem "a little" much for the categorie system to carry...

We have no short term plans for this. But it might be something for the next major release of Zoom.

When are you planning for the next major release?

Development hasn't started & there is no date as yet. If we give a date now it will surely be wrong. We have been recently working on point releases, like V5.1 (http://www.wrensoft.com/zoom/whatsnew.html) and MasterNode (http://www.wrensoft.com/masternode/index.html) plus fixing up our bank end customer management system.

We could give you a quote to do it as custom development if you need something urgent and can't find another solutions that suits.
