We have put up a new build of the XLS plugin which addresses a few bugs and issues. You can download the latest build here:

Changes:
- Fixed bug which causes xlhtml.exe (and consequently, Zoom) to freeze up when it is attempting to index a corrupt or malformed XLS file.
- Improved capability of handling some malformed XLS files which would previously fail with an error message of "Failed to convert XLS file due to format or read error".
- Added support for meta author information
- Cleaned up output for better indexing
