wrong file type error for statistics log searchwords.log

I have version 6 installed and it writes to a logfile call searchwords.log
I set permissions of that file to 777
But when I try and do a report it says I am trying to open the wrong file type.
The file is located at http://www.rapidswestside.com/logs/searchwords.log
Am I missing something here??

I was able to generate a search word statistics report using the log file at this URL without any error.

What are the exact steps that produce the error?
