partial search wild cards

I'm not getting the results I expect when trying partial word search. I have not selected substring search. But, I am trying to use wild card (*) and I have "all search words" selected. If I enter a search such as "temp* zzzzzzzz" (without quotes), I receive results. No documents have "zzzzzzzz" in them, yet I still get results. I am using the javascript version because we are using laptops in the field without internet conection. I do not have time to get into alternative methods at the moment. Am I expecting too much from this software?

This is a bug in the current Javascript version. We will fix it in the next build (4.0.1011). Note that this problem does not occur with the PHP, ASP and CGI versions.
