New MasterNode pricing model - It's free

As of today 17/April/09 we are introducing a new pricing model for MasterNode.

The software will be free, but we will be charging for support.

Annual support will be $250 per installation of MasterNode. If you don't need support, then there is nothing to pay.

Annual support will include,

• Phone support (in our business hours)
• E-mail support
• Help with the install
• Bug fixes
• Remote login to your server by our engineers if you require it

Why the change? Firstly because the software is very complementary with Zoom, and making MasterNode more popular can only help us sell more copies of Zoom. And secondly because the product is at the moment virtually unknown in its niche market and giving it away will raise the level of awareness.

Our belief is that we can make enough off the support income to continue with the product development over the next few years.

As of last week, we have also made it opensource. So MasterNode it is both free and opensource now. We are now no longer accepting new annual support purchases. Any requirements for custom development or support will be quoted based on the requirements of the job.

Should you take the source code and add some new features feel free to send the new code back into us and we'll eventually include them into the main code base.
