  • Meta Data for PDFs - Last Modified date

As far as I am aware, the Last Modified date used on Zoom Search results comes for either the metatag or from the filesystem date. On my site I have a bunch of PDF files which are not displaying the date on the search results.
All pages, are getting the meta data correctly from either the meta tags or the file systems but the PDF's dont!
Should I use .desc files instead?
I was really expecting that Zoom Search can pick the last modified date from the file system of PDF files.
Thanks in advance for any help

Zoom will pick up the last-modified date from the file system if they are available. If you are indexing in Spider Mode, this means your web server needs to serve the date you are expecting. If you have a PHP script for example, which serves the PDF file in question, then this script needs to provide the correct date for the last-modified header.

But yes, you can use .desc files to override the dates otherwise specified (or not specified) by your server.
