  • NEWBIE: Help with Categories

    I want to create 5 categories
    Cat1
    Cat2
    Cat3
    Cat4
    Cat5

    I have various files (ppt,pptx,xlsx,xls,docx,pdf, etc) on my server in a folder called .search/upload/

    I would like to do 1 of 2 things, whichever is possible or best.

    1. Create 5 subfolders of upload;
    .search/upload/cat1
    .search/upload/cat2
    etc
    Then have search it by folder depending on selection of category

    or

    2. Have the search execute by category using the File - Properties - Summary - Category field.
    Individually right click on each file; in the Properties/Summary; in the Category field enter the correct category;

    Please advise how to setup the best scenario.

    The first option is easier. You can use the sub folder names in the Zoom configuration window to define the categories. See the User's Guide for details about how categories work.
