  • AJAX Live Search: Can/Will it/Is it possible in Zoom v.6

    Hello all,
    I plan to invest in your product (again) for one of my companies, I just have one question first.
    Can Zoom Search Engine v6 handle AJAX Live Search or the same function in another language, example;
    http://www.w3schools.com/php/php_ajax_livesearch.asp

    So ...

    Q: Can Zoom 6 do this now, like in backend?

    Q: If above is a "no", is this something you plan to implement?
    If you have not thought about it, then I put in a "official request" now for a specific page in the admin/backend panel where one can add words/sentences with ease.

    Q: If above is a "no" + a "ummm ..."
    Is it possible to combine the AJAX script with Zoom v6?
    I'm first a CSS/HTML coder and I have no idea how to code JAVA, AJAX, PHP, etc besides reading carefully and follow instructions. So a yes/no could save me alot of time here if it's even a meaning for me to try.

    We would like to do it. But there are 2 major issues and a few minor ones. 1) Many of our customers are on very slow shared hosting servers, so typing speed will exceed the search speed. 2) The building and maintaining of a good list of suggestions for a particular site.

    This older post discusses the issues in more detail.

    Until we implement something, I think it is possible to overlay 3rd party solution (like the code you referenced above), on to the Zoom search form.

      Thanks for the fast and clear reply and for the link, I searched as good as I could, but did not find that specific post.
      Now I know what route to take.
