  • Moodle 2.2 - Excluding Topic Titles

    Hi,

I would first like to say Zoom is a great product which is easy to get going with.

I have created a search function within our Moodle site using the Tutorial, however how do you exclude topic titles from the search.

    Any pointers would be appreciated

You can exclude titles of pages from being indexed via "Configure"->"Indexing options" and unchecking "Titles".

This assumes your topic titles are only presented in the HTML as <title>My title</title>

If these topic titles are presented also in headings (e.g. <h1>my title</h1>) or elsewhere on the page, then you will need to modify your template and enclose the titles with <!--ZOOMSTOP--> and <!--ZOOMRESTART--> tags so that they will be excluded from indexing. You can do this for any section of the page which contains content you wish to exclude, including navigation menus, headers, and footers.
