  • Rating the popularity of search results

    Hi, our site uses Joomla, but also has a large separate archive of PDF files which we index with Zoom Search....and it works GREAT!

    Do you know of a way that when a user finds a PDF file from the Zoom Search results, it could be "rated" - like a voting system. Hopefully the ratings could then be tracked and presented through the Joomla system for other users to see the most popular PDF files.

    There are plenty of ways within Joomla to rate its own content items, but the PDF files are in a separate archive and not Joomla content items. Hope this question makes sense. The site is http://ieterna.org

    Thanks

    If you know some script coding, you could write out a small .desc file per PDF file with the ZOOMPAGEBOOST tag.
    e.g.
    <meta name="ZOOMPAGEBOOST" content="5">

    See the users guide for additional details about .desc files.

    See also the FAQ about scoring results.
