Zoom and WebWorks ePublisher

Has anyone tried using Zoom on a WebWorks ePublisher help system? We are building a knowledge base using ePublisher, but their search capabilities leave a lot to be desired. We have the enterprise version of Zoom and it works so well that we would like to use it here also.

We are not familiar with WebWorks ePublisher. But if you can generate a HTML help system, then you can use Zoom to index that folder (use Offline Mode) and create a JavaScript platform output. There would probably be some work to integrate it with the existing interface etc, depending on how customizable ePublisher's output is.

EC Software's Help & Manual contains a customized version of the Zoom Search Engine that we built for them, specificially for this purpose. Out of the box, it will invoke the internal Zoom engine to produce a search function for the HTML help that is powered by Zoom.

It also has advanced features to integrate with the stand-alone version of Zoom for even more options and further possibilities (such as creating an online help system with the fully featured PHP or CGI search function).

We are not having issues with indexing the files, what I am trying to get to work is how to place the Zoom search into the frame and bypass the WebWorks search.

You can specify the frame for the results to load into. Under "Configure"->"Search Page"->"Results linking", select "Frame or window:" and specify the name of the frame.

You can find the name of the target frame desired by viewing the HTML source of the file containing the frameset.

You can bypass the WebWorks search by changing the links from their search function to point to the "search.html" file created by Zoom.
