  • Problem with chinese characters in pdf file

We are using V7 on Windows Server and currently we have encountered two problems:

    1. Chinese characters not properly displayed on the search result for pdf file
    2. The Drop down selection box that when you type search words in the Search box will overlap part of the Search Box itself. This happens only in IE browser, not in Chrome.

How can the above problem be fixed?

What character set options are you using on the site and in Zoom (e.g. UTF-
What scripting option did you select (PHP, ASP, CGI, etc..)
Can you E-Mail us the PDF file, or post a link to the search page.
Which version of IE are you using?

The overlapping might be a result of other HTML elements on the page pushing things around. Again, can you post a link so that we can see the problem.

If you edited the CSS or the default search_template.html file, please try the default to see if it resolves the issue. If you need access to the default files, they are typically located in the directory,

        C:\ProgramData\Wrensoft\Zoom Search Engine Indexer V7\scripts

You can find our contact email on the Contact Us page. Please include information on the version (and build) of Zoom you are using (check the "Help"->"About" window).

For anyone else with this problem, the autocomplete dropdown behaviour in IE is documented (with fix) in this previous thread:
