  • Using the Expires Meta Tag

    Does Zoom have the ability to use the expires meta tag?

    <meta name="expires" content="tue, 01 Jun 2010">

    or

    <meta http-equiv="expires" content="Sun, 28 Nov 2010 13:21:02 GMT">

    We are looking for a way to not have these pages indexed after a certain period of time. We wish for the links to remain active on the site, but not in the search results. The pages are static HTML pages.

    And help on this will be greatly appreciated.

    No, the expires tag is not used.

    Other options might be to make them dynamic pages and then include the <meta name="robots" content="noindex"> tag.

    Or have a dynamic robots.txt file.

    Or update the configuration in Zoom as you go to exclude files. This could be makes relatively painless if the page URLs had the date as part of the URL.
